Edward
R. Close, Ph.D., P.E.
Experience Summary:
Dr. Close is an acknowledged expert in science
and engineering working in the environmental planning and management,
engineering, hydrology, and hydrogeology since 1965. His experience
is broad, with special expertise in Karst hydrology, contaminant
transport in subsurface media, and remediation technologies. His
career began at the U.S. Geological Survey where he was trained
in both surface water and groundwater before moving into private
consulting where he served many of the leaders in the environmental
consulting industry. Dr. Close has been responsible for site assessments,
site characterizations, remediaition design and closure at more
than 200 UST and AST sites.
Dr. Close has had full responsibility for projects that include industrial city planning,
resource planning and management, modeling of waste streams and contaminant plumes, design of
conventional & innovative remedial systems, and monitoring systems for RCRA, CERCLA,
CERCLIS, SARA, EPCRA, OSHA, CWA, UST, LUST, NEPA, and US EPA regulated sites. He has had
significant bottom-line responsibility for budgets on complex projects that include, five-year master
plans, feasibility studies, environmental impact statements (RI / FS, EIS, and EIQ). He has personally participated
in and/or directed every phase of work from conception to closure, including interface
with regulatory agency personnel in eleven states, on the island of Puerto Rico, and the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ruth
A. Hathaway, BSS, FAIC, NRCC-EAC
Experience Summary:
Ms. Hathaway is a
certified environmental chemist with more than twelve years experience in analysis,
and sixteen years experience in regulatory compliance.
She has had broad experience in environmental chemistry and in the chemical health and
safety fields, having served in commercial environmental laboratories, industrial
and academic settings. Ms. Hathaway is committed to maintaining
the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Neil
Jost, P.E.
Experience Summary:
Mr. Jost is a registered
Professional Engineer with more than twenty-three years experience in environmental science and
engineering, specializing in Environmental Planning, Water Quality and
Industrial Waste Management. His responsibilities have included site investigations,
feasibility studies, remedial systems design and operation, waste management, hazardous
materials management, design of wastewater and water treatment facilities, soil and
groundwater remediation systems, air quality monitoring systems, environmental compliance,
planning and corrective actions. He has developed progressive and innovative techniques
for addressing environmental issues in both the business and technical areas, including
significant bottom-line responsibility for budgets. Mr. Jost has worked in a number of
settings as a consultant for public agencies, small and large industrial firms, and
various engineering firms within the Central United States.

Elizabeth
A. Knote
Experience Summary:
Ms. Knote has more than ten years
experience in the chemical and environmental engineering sciences. She provides a unique
perspective to the CEC team in that she oversaw the defense of her family-owned pesticide
company, designated a Superfund site and noted on the National Priorities List (NPL) after
chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticide contamination was discovered at their formulation plant
site. Ms. Knote successfully negotiated with USEPA Region VII and Missouri DNR to settle
the companys liability, and to withdraw their companys PRP status at two other
NPL sites. She understands the clients fears and the financial ramifications of
environmental regulation from first-hand experience. Ms. Knote is vigilant in her
commitment to reducing costs to the client whenever and wherever possible.
